Booga has 19 teeth in and only one more to go! However, that one more is his last back molar. The last molar is yet to break through the gum, and the other 3 have broken but are still descending. He has never been the greatest sleeper, but now he wakes up at least 3 times a night screaming in pain. I feel so helpless when he does this because nothing seems to work. We've tried orajel, teething tablets, ice and rubbing his gums. He will scream the whole time I try to reach all the way to the back of his mouth with the orajel and get more on his tongue than his molars. He spits the teething tablets right back out. He will suck on ice during the day, but in the middle of the night, he's not in the mood for it. He just wants to be held like a little baby (which isn't that easy with a bigger than average almost 3 year old!)
PopPops is also teething. I never knew a baby could produce so much drool. He wants to chew on EVERYTHING! He has begun to clamp down on me with his gums while nursing. I've never been bit with teeth and imagine that would hurt worse, but being gummed isn't anywhere near fun either! Booga started drooling on everything about this age and cut his first tooth 16 days before his 1st birthday. So, I'm counting on PopPops cutting his first around the same time.
Children aren't blueprints of course, but I've read that children have all 20 baby teeth by their 3rd birthday...so at 23 months apart, I'm counting on Booga cutting his last tooth at the same time PopPops cuts his first! It'd be really funny if it happens on the same day...well it won't be fun for them, or me, but like most things in parenthood (and life in general) it'll be a good story one day.

What if Moses had the internet?
This has nothing to do with the goobers, but I thought it was so awesome that I had to share.
I can't decide which part is my favorite. I've narrowed it down to ordering plagues on Amazon, Pharoah has an Iphone and Moses's tweet "No time for baking." Some people have too much time on their hands, but I'm glad to see that they used that extra time to create something so awesome!
The war over Thomas!
Booga has been obsessed with everything Thomas the Train for about a year now. He has a little bucket that he carries all his trains around the house in. He has become more and more interested in PopPops as he's grown and begun to move around instead of just being that thing that cries and takes all Mommy's attention. I've caught Booga giving him stuffed animals or toys, but the second that PopPops comes near his trains, he screams, throws them all into his bucket and runs away with them. Poor PopPops just wants to play with his big brother :( Grammie bought PopPops his own set of little toys including a tractor, train and police car, but of course PopPops wants to play with his cool big brother's toys instead. The times that Booga has been able to play with children his age, he was more interested in playing next to, but not with, other children. I've read that this is normal child development, but I'd like to get to the "with" stage soon, so that this Thomas war can come to cease-fire already.

Intro blog
Hello all,
I've started this blog to update all those interested on my two little goobers, Booga and PopPops, as well as ramble on about things interesting to me. This is mostly a blog for family members and friends who don't receive my email updates or don't have a facebook to see all the hundreds I post there of the goobers. For privacy and security reasons, I will use their nicknames. For those that know them in real life, Booga is the first son and PopPops is the second :)
So to begin the update: Booga has started to talk more and been using a lot of "b" words. He said clear as day (to me anyway) "bubble bath" the other day as well as an attempt to say "blueberries" and "baby." PopPops' little personality is starting to develop and he is turning into a little stinker. He likes to walk holding onto things, espically the kitchen chairs and try to push them all over. He has also started to do the one handed lean, but hasn't had the courage to stand alone yet. He can take as long as he wants to walk. I'm still recovering from the first goober that decided to walk at 7months and 26 days and hasn't slowed down since! He also likes to pat things with both hands and giggle hysterically. His favorite things to do this to include his mommy and his doggy. I have been woken up the last 2 days by him patting my face.
